Each week there are lots of things to get involved in which reflect our vision of church life, community and mission. Here's a snapshot of a week in the life of Southcroft Church looks like. If you'd like more information please chat to one of our leaders at church or sign up for our e-news. For more details of Ichthus events please see ichthus.org.uk

Mondays:

Children's Home Group (after school)

Every other week - Bible Study, Fun, Games and Creative activities and a great place for our children to learn and grow in their faith.

FUEL - 18-20's (8pm-10pm)

Every other week - The young adults gather for some friendship and fun in a local Streatham restaurant or pub with board games and time to relax.

Tuesdays + Thursdays: Ichthus Prayer Community (10am - 1pm)

The heart of any church or ministry is its prayer life. In Ichthus we keep that heart beating in many ways, most notably in the Prayer Community on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am - 1pm at the Prayer House in Forest Hill and at monthly Prayer Days. The Prayer Community is the hub of all prayer activity in Ichthus, its committed members gathering for many hours each week to lift all sorts of needs to the Lord.

Wednesdays: Sharing Jesus in Mitcham Town on the Streets (3-5pm)

Each week we take time to share the Gospel in creative ways in Mitcham Town Centre, that may be through worship and testimony, handing out tracts, blessing commuters with free hot drinks, offering prayer for healing or any other issues. We invite folks to our new church plant - Hope Church Mitcham which meets in nearby St Mark's Family Centre.

Thursdays:

Community Table for the Homeless and those in need (11am - 3pm)

Jesus himself knew what it was to be a refugee and to be homeless. He makes it very clear that He expects His followers to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, welcome the stranger and clothe the naked. Through the Community Table, we welcome people who are homeless or in need for a cooked meal, shower, clothing and to provide friendship and support. We also make the Gospel clear to those who attend. Through Community Table we have been able to see many people find housing, employment and new hope in Jesus.

Fridays:

1. Gospel Club

A Gospel Dance club run in a local Primary School provides an opportunity to talk about the Good News and listen to some great music!

2. Hope Bible Group - (1:30pm-2:45pm)

A Bible Study exploring who Jesus is and how we can follow him and put our faith into action.

3. Crofter Coffee - (Term time 3pm - 5pm)

Crofter Coffee takes place during term-time Fridays, between 3 and 5pm at Southcroft Church, blessing foks in our community with free Fairtrade drinks and sharing the good news of Jesus. The building is open to anyone who wants to come in for a sit down and a chat, and local schoolchildren also come in and play table tennis and board games. It’s a safe and welcoming environment. We’ve been running Crofter Coffee for seven years – it’s a great opportunity to open the church up to the local community and extend a welcome to passers-by. And who would turn down great coffee?

4. J.A.M. Jesus And Me for ages 10-14 (7:30-9:30)

JAM is a brilliant youth club for all of our young people with games, music, crafts, prayer, worship and Bible Study at the church.

Saturdays:

There's almost always something happening on Saturdays! Please see the Ichthus Calendar for full dates at ichthus.org.uk

Bible School

In Ichthus we have a once a month Bible School. (Generally the 1st Saturday of the month from 9am - 1pm) Ichthus Bible School offers inspirational teaching of the Word to exercise the mind and refresh the spirit in the presence of Jesus. It costs just £5 per morning and there’s no need to book.

Evangelism Breakfast

Evangelism Breakfasts also take place once a month. (Generally the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:45am - 12:30pm) at one of our Ichthus congregations, the Efor all who are interested in following Jesus in evangelism and seeing people saved. Join us for breakfast, a training seminar and then some time on the streets, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.

Prayer Day

We also hold a Prayer Day one Saturday a month (Generally the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am - 3pm) anyone in an Ichthus congregation is welcome to join us for five hours of prayer and worship. The day is free and open to all, and moves from prayer to worship throughout the day. Stay for the whole day or drop in for an hour or two. Lunch is provided.

Church on the Streets (Generally the last Saturday of the month from 10am - 12noon) is an opportunity for us to gather to worship on the Streets, share our testimony, offer prayer for healing and preach the Gospel. We go out to nearby Streatham, Tooting Broadway and Mitcham Town Centre.

Sundays:

We hold 2 Services to gather, worship Jesus, hear from the Bible and grow in our faith. On Sunday mornings we gather to pray from 10:15 our service at Southcroft starts at 11am

In the Afternoon a team of us from Southcroft head to nearby Mitcham for Hope Church! from 3-5pm.

Sunday evenings:

Once a month we join with other Ichthus congregations for an Ichthus Celebration. Ichthus Celebrations are a monthly opportunity to go deeper in worship with the help of anointed leaders and musicians and to hear inspirational teaching from Roger and Faith and other Ichthus leaders. Whether you belong to an Ichthus congregation or not, you will find these times accessible, faith-building and uplifting, a place where kingdom relationships are enjoyed.

There is a time of Prayer and Worship every other Sunday evening of each month from 5:30pm-7pm held at the Ichthus Prayer House in Forest Hill.

Midweek - Home Groups:

At Southcroft, we believe that Jesus’ teaching on character and spirituality can only be truly practised in meaningful relationships with other Christians. That is why our Homegroups are so important to us. They give us a chance to build friendships, listen to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and encouragement together, discuss what God is saying to us through the Bible and challenge each other to keep following after Jesus in our day-to-day lives.

Homegroups are open to those who feel that Southcroft is the church where they want to belong, and who want to be disciples of Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him. We currently have 5 groups meeting in Streatham, Mitcham, Croydon and Pollards Hill on Wednesday + Thursday evenings.

For more details about how to join a Home Group, come and talk to one of the Southcroft Prayer Planning Team at a Sunday morning meeting.
